James Roger White passed away June 9, 2018 in San Leandro, CA at the age of 78. He was born January 1, 1940 in Many, Louisiana to Lou (Beyard) and Stanley White.

James, also affectionately known as “Papa”, is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ellen White (2012). He is also survived by his children: Artemece and Eric White; and his grandchildren: Jazmine Fields, Eric White, Jayden White, and Kylie Mitchell.

For over 25 years James was a supervisor for the State of California Employment Development department. He was an alumnus of California State University, Hayward where he earned his bachelor’s degree.

Joys in life for James included fishing, bull riding shows, going to church, gardening, sports, and cooking for family and friends.

Services will be held Friday June 22nd, 2018 from 5-7pm  at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary in San Lorenzo, CA.

James served in the US Army and will be laid to rest respectfully and with honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
