Hoai An Tran entered peacefully into rest at her San Leandro home on September 16, 2017.  She was 85 years old. 

Hoai An was born on May 9, 1932 in Vietnam to Trong-Thrinh Nguyen and Thu Knong, Hoai.  She moved to the Bay Area, making San Leandro her home for the past 21 years.  Hoai An was devoted to her family and her faith.  She will be deeply missed.

Hoai An is survived by her beloved husband, Xuan Ha Tran; 2 children and many cherished extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo.  A chapel blessing will be at 5:30 pm with vigil services to follow at 6 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm.  A reception will be held at the mortuary.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at St. Felicitas Catholic Church, 1662 Manor Blvd., San Leandro.  Interment will be private at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in San Jose.
