Herminia Y. Mendoza entered peacefully into rest on February 28, 2025 in San Ramon, California.  She was 78 years old.

Born in the Philippines on August 25, 1946, Hermie as she was affectionately called, was one of 9 children born to Prudencio and Felicisimas Ycong.  Hermie graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Sto. Tomas and went on to earn her master’s degree from Centro Scholar University.   She enjoyed a successful career in social work before transitioning her diligent work ethics to assisting local title companies. 

Hermie’s greatest joy was her family.  She shared 47 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Mariano.  She enjoyed cooking, taking walks around the park and sharing her time with those she loved.  Her diniguan was legendary among her family and she took great pride in being the best Auntie to her many nieces and nephews.   Hermie was treasured by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Mariano Mendoza of Dublin; her devoted daughter and son in law, Hannah Lee and Anthony Llagund of San Ramon; siblings, Rofol Ycong Sr.,Felicistas Y Iglesia, Leticia Y Dvi-Vardhana, Elizabeth Y Pasco and Carlito Ycong; grandchildren, Aubrey Belle and Alex Mateo Llagund and many loving extended family and cherished friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Hermie’s life at 3 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo.  Visitation will be 2 pm to 3 pm at the mortuary.  Hermie will be laid to rest at San Fernando Mission Catholic Cemetery. Mission Hills, Ca.
