Helma Lucas passed away on Sunday October 23, 2016 in Castro Valley, CA. She was 96 years old.
 Born in Hilo, Hawaii in 1920, Helma married her husband, Alfred in 1942 and they shared 66 years together until his passing. They had 6 children together; Alfred Lucas Jr., Vern Lucas, Jane White, Emma Veenstra (Michael), Carlene Rose and Carl Lucas.
 She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. She was a kind and generous lady. Helma loved tropical flowers and enjoyed planting her yearly vegetable garden. Her presence will be sorely missed.

 Services were held on Thursday October 27, 2016 at Grissom's Chapel and Mortuary. 267 E. Lewelling Blvd. San Lorenzo, CA. 94580
