Gilbert Paul Vayer “Gil”, passed away on August 25, 2016 in San Lorenzo, California. Gil was born on March 2, 1933 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts to parents; Paul Veilleux and Mary Botelho. He attended Mt. Eden Elementary, Patterson High. Northrup Aeronautical Institute and the DeVry Institute. He was a Senior Technologist for 27 years. His hobbies were flying, (He obtained his private Pilot license), Clock making, gold prospecting, traveling and golfing. Gil served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, and the Korean War where he received metals and awards from the China Service, Korean Service, United Nations National Defense and Ambassador for Peace.
He was married to Diane L. Vayer for 60 years and they had two daughters; Cindy Vayer-Jenkins and Sandy Leyva. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Ashley Reynolds, Katelyn Vayer-Jenkins, James Leyva and Amber Leyva. Siblings; Claire Lewis, Edie Nicolosi and Ernst Vayer. Gil will be truly missed! The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
