Georgina passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2025. She was the first child of Catherine and Valentine Esparza. Georgina was raised in Oakland and as an adult moved to San Leandro. She was a devoted daughter and took care of her parents until their death.Georgina was preceded in death by first husband Claudino Franklino, her second husband Jerry Sechler, and her son Michael whom she adored. Also preceding Georgina in death are sisters Sarah Zoffada, Anna Groesbeck, Catherine Barber, Eleanor Bollinger, her nephews Tom Mowbray, Joe Bodnar, nieces Virginia Bodnar, Diane Mahler, Danica King, and Mary Mowbray.

Georgina learned to cook Italian food from her mother, who came from Italy at the age of 16. Georgina was an avid baker and made the best cookies and pies from scratch. A pro at gardening, from fava beans to roses she could take a slip from any plant and it would grow. She loved golf, tennis, and handball. She also loved and was the original owner of her 1963 Buick Riviera and drove it until she was 90. 

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was close with her friends especially her Italian buddy Jan Re.

She will be missed by all, Georgina's final resting place is Holy Sepluchre Cemetery in Hayward, California.
