Gary Alan Rabinowitz died on July 6, 2023 at the age of 67 years old in San Leandro,California.  

He was born on July 15,1955 to Dr. Lewis and Bernice Rabinowitz at Murphy Army Hospital in Waltham, Massachusetts. Gary was the oldest of three children. His sister, Lori, was born in 1957 and his brother, Glenn, was born in 1963. Gary became a bar mitzvah at Temple Beth Am in Williamsville, New York in 1968.

At age 16, Gary graduated from Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, Arizona and was a member of the high school choir. He earned an Associate’s Degree in sociology from Glendale Community College, where he also sang in the choir. He subsequently attended Arizona State University for a year.

Gary enjoyed listening to the radio and was an avid fan of all types of sports. He loved listening to the news, and talking about current events and politics. He enjoyed a wide range of music and often sang along to the radio in his beautiful voice. Gary loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Gary immensely enjoyed living in northern California, taking bus rides to the Pacific Ocean and walking along the beach. 

Gary was very proud of his family, including his sister, Lori Baker; brother, Glenn Rabinowitz (Laura Florence); nieces Jennifer Marshall (Josh Marshall) and Julie Shanahan (Andy Shanahan); nephews Jackson Shanahan and Joseph Marshall; niece Emma Marshall; uncle, Paul Coran; first cousins, Philip and Steven Coran; and many more cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice; father, Lewis; and brother-in-law, Charles Stanley Baker Jr.
