Florence “Nana" Butler entered peacefully into rest in San Leandro on December 30, 2017. She was 90 years old.

Born in Miles City, Montana on December 13, 1927 to Stanley and Marie Narey.  She was the elder sister of John (Jack) Narey.  In 1952, she married John Butler and in 1953 they began to make their life long home in San Leandro, CA with their two children.  Florence was a graduate of St. Marys College, San Francisco where she earned her nursing degree and flourished in her career for 30 years. She enjoyed puzzles, watching pro sports and her grandchildren participating in sports as well. She was very proud of her achievement with the title of Nurse and Assistant Admin of Humana Hospital.

Florence is survived by her children Stephen Butler (Tim) and Barbara Barajas (Ron); grandchildren Matthew Barajas (Judy) and Marcie Barajas.

Visitation will be at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary in San Lorenzo on Sunday January 7, 2018 from 12 P.M. - 5 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association are preferred.
