Esther Ellen Robinson, “Miss Ess,” to family and friends, passed away January 19, 2019 in San Leandro, CA, at the age of 68. She was born May 26, 1950 in Oakland, California to parents Mary and Bernard Bunney. 

Esther worked as a registrar of voters for 35 years, after graduating from San Lorenzo High School. She loved playing pool, going to A’s and Raiders games, gambling in Reno, and Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings with her family.

Esther is survived by her children Stephanie Batchelor, Sean Batchelor, and Daryl Robinson; grandson Brian Alderman; parents Bernard C. Bunney and Mary K. Bunney; and siblings Michael Bunney, Patricia Michels, Tim Bunney, Bernard Bunney, and William Bunney. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Richard “Pete” Robinson.

Visitation for Esther will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA, with a Vigil to be held at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. Johns Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA. Esther will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
