Esperanza “Abuelita” Reyes
October 16, 1932 – February 17, 2026

Esperanza “Abuelita” Reyes, age 93, was born on October 16, 1932, in Mexico. She entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2026, in San Leandro, California.

Esperanza’s greatest joy and lifelong passion was her role as a grandmother — a role she lovingly embraced for over 30 years. She attended high school in Mexico and carried throughout her life a deep love for gardening, crafting, crocheting, cooking, and walking. Her warmth, creativity, and devotion to family will always be remembered.

She is survived by her children, Laura Reyes, Maricela Altamirano, grandchildren, Jorge A. Altamirano, Edward Altamirano, Christina R. Kezar, Angela de Haro, and Anthony W. Stoker; and her great-granddaughter, Alicia H. Altamirano.

Esperanza was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 72 years, Antonio Reyes; her cherished children, Leticia Reyes Sr., Leticia Reyes Jr., and Alejandra Reyes; and her beloved parents, Jose Negrete and Refugio Lopez.
