Erlinda “Bonnie” Grajeda passed away peacefully in Castro Valley on July 10, 2016. She was 77 years young.
Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on April 9, 1939, Bonnie was one of 4 children blessed to Paul and Marilyn Duran. She graduated from Holy Names High School. She had many jobs throughout her life, but working at St. Felicitas School was her favorite. Bonnie met and married the love of her life, Matt, and together, they would settle in San Leandro to raise their 4 children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who took great pride in her family. Bonnie enjoyed bingo, horse racing, Raider’s football, playing the lottery and trips to any casino. She was a longtime parishioner of St. John’s Catholic Church and member of St. Gerard Women’s Club. Bonnie had a kind heart, an infectious sense of humor, and a way of making anyone who knew her feel special.She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. 
She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Matthew Grajeda of San Leandro; children, Mike (Laura), Dave (Julie), Terri (Bob) and Sue (Doug); siblings, Patricia, Paul, and Cecilia (deceased). She will be forever loved by her grandchildren, Noelle, Jeffrey, Emily, Melanie, Kelly, Megan, Matthew, Aly, Sophie, Olivia, Kandis and Joey; great grandchildren, Natalie, Averie and Junior; plus many loving extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 4 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. The vigil service begins at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, July 18, 2016 at St. John’s Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Sandwich Program are preferred (or play a 6 ~ 4 exacta box for her!)
