Elvera “Vera” Lucas, born Aug. 14, 1923 passed away on June 1, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born to Joseph and Carmella Botelho. A resident of Fremont, Vera was raised in Oakland and lived in San Leandro for over 40 years. Her beloved husband of 58 years, John J. Lucas passed away in 2011. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Davis, and brothers David A. Botelho, Sr. and Joseph Botelho, Jr. She is survived by cousin Irene Paiva, sister-in-law Corinne Botelho, good friends, and 3 generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
