Elva Alvarez Rivers entered peacefully into rest at home in Hayward, California on April 29, 2019. She was 81 years old.

Born May 5, 1937 in La Jolla, California to Vickie and Lawrence Alvarez, Elva worked as a homemaker after graduating from high school.

Elva is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Rivers; sons Robert (Bob) Rivers and Mark Rivers; grandchildren Jacob Rivers and Dylan Rivers; and brothers Ray Alvarez and Lawrence Alvarez. She was preceded in death by her siblings Joe Alvarez and Virginia Herrera. 

A Memorial Services for Elva will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA.
