Edward M. Vessel, a longtime San Leandro resident, passed away on Dec. 18, 2018 at home in his sleep, with his loving wife, Dotty, by his side.  He was born in Kansas on June 21, 1930 to Edward and Anna Vessel.  Edward was an Army Sergeant in the Korean War.  He was a dedicated worker for National Can (Silgan Corp) for over 50 years.  Ed truly enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, walking, gardening and Lake Tahoe.  Ed is survived by his wife Dotty of 48 years and extended family and friends.  His family would like to thank Advent Hospice for their care and support.  At Ed’s request, no services will be held.
