Edward “Eddie” Lent passed away suddenly at his home in Berry Creek, CA. He was 55 years old.
Eddie was born in Oakland, CA in 1961. He was the baby brother. Youngest of eight children. He attended Oakland public schools before pursuing a career in the culinary arts that would be his passion for 20+ years. Eddie loved to cook and to feed the people around him who he received much joy spending time with. He had such a giving and loving spirit. He received an award for his dedication as a mentor of children with developmental disabilities. He would take these children out to experience the great outdoors, taking them to feed horses, educating them on the world around them and sharing with them happiness and kindness. Eddie also enjoyed drawing and sharing his art with others, he also has a knack for making jewelry.
Edward in recent years had time on his hands to pursue more of his artistry and spend time with family as much as possible. Eddie leaves behind his devoted daughter Loretta, his brothers; Michael and Thomas Lent, his sisters; Rosemary Reyes, Barbara Burcio and Eileen Hernandez and last but not least his pride and joy, his grandchildren; Latrish Pitts and Joshua Pitts. He is preceded in death by his parents; Frederick and Rositta Lent, his 3 brothers; Frederick Lent Jr., James Anthony Lent and John Justin Lent and the recent and unfortunate tragic loss of his grandson Junius “Fat Daddy” Pitts.
Eddie will always be remembered for his bright spirit, His LOVE for the Oakland Raiders, his own personal and original style, his long hair, his smile, laughter and the mountain of love he brought upon everyone. Eddie the Iceman will be truly missed.
