Dumitru Lobont, known to his friends as Mitru, passed away in his home in San Leandro, California on July 17, 2019. He was 63 years old.

The oldest boy, but 4th in line, of the 12 children born to his parents, Iosif & Lina Lobont, Dumitru was born on November 12,1955, in Chesa, Romania. Dumitru moved to the United States in 1980 where he established his work as a carpenter & general contractor and went on to meet and work with so many people. Pets and children loved him and he was blessed with a green thumb and was forever giving away the tomatoes and cucumbers he grew in his garden. He was a loving "Papa" to all his grandchildren and will be greatly and dearly missed.

Dumitru is survived by his children, Elizabeth Koski, Stefanie Bryning & Lina Chappell, and his grandchildren Brooklyn, Lily, Remington and Georgia; as well as his siblings, nieces & nephews still in Romania.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 3 Crosses Church, 20600 John Drive, Castro Valley, CA. A reception will follow.
