Dorothy L. Quinta entered into eternal rest at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward on December 21, 2017.
She was born in Puunene, Maui, Hawaii, and her parents were Mary and Joseph Medeiros. Her grandparents were immigrants from Portugal and the Madeira Islands. She moved to California with her husband, Adam Quinta (deceased) in 1952. She is survived by her two loving children Ron Quinta and Sharon Quinta. She worked in accounting for approximately 20 years and retired from her position at the Army Supply Depot in Alameda in 1972.
Her hobbies included playing bingo, sewing, crocheting, cooking, traveling, cruising, etc. She also enjoyed playing cards and board games and taking an occasional trip to Reno or Vegas. She was a long time member of the San Lorenzo Socialables Club where she had many good friends. Dorothy was an avid Oakland Athletics supporter, and she was a season ticket holder when the A’s won the World Series Championships in the 1970s—also had a season ticket for the 2018 season.
She was known for her kindness and great personality—being a good friend to many. To know her was to love her.
