In Loving Memory of Diane Pierceall

August 29, 1947 – February 7, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, Diane Pierceall, who left us on February 7, 2025. She was 77 years old.

Born on August 29, 1947, in Hayward, California, Diane was the daughter of the late Manuel and Alice Tavares. She grew up with her siblings Ronnie, Richie, Bobby, Yvonne, Michael, and Patty, all of whom preceded her in death.

On April 26, 1964, Diane married the love of her life, Larry Pierceall, beginning a lifelong journey together that spanned over 60 years. In May 1968, they settled into their family home in Hayward, where Diane created a warm and welcoming space filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

Diane’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters Angel, Nicole, and Lisa, and a proud grandmother to Amanda, Briana, Antonio, Daniel, Davis, and Chloe. Her heart swelled with love for her great-grandchildren Noah and Alexandra. She also embraced many others as sons, daughters, and grandchildren of the heart, extending her kindness beyond bloodlines.

While Diane worked at Stanford Hospital, her most cherished and enduring role was that of wife and "mother extraordinaire." She was the heart of her family, always finding ways to make her loved ones feel special and deeply cared for.

Known for her warmth and generosity, Diane had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family from the moment they met her. She was the first to arrive with a home-cooked meal, offer a helping hand, or simply be there to listen. Her love knew no bounds.

Diane found joy in cooking, attending social gatherings, and traveling. Her home was often filled with the delicious aromas of her kitchen creations, the sound of laughter from family and friends, and stories from her many adventures.

A celebration of Diane’s life will be held on March 28, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Grissom’s Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd. San Lorenzo, CA 94580 with a reception immediately following at Cherryland Community Center 278 Hamptom Road Hayward, CA 94541. The family invites you to share your favorite memories or stories that reflect the love and warmth she gave so freely.

Diane’s legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her absence is profound, but her spirit remains ever-present in the lives she touched.
