Diana Jean O'Hara entered peacefully into rest in San Leandro, California on September 19, 2021. She was 73 years old.

Born December 17, 1947 in Oakland, California to parents Joy VonAchen and John Underwood Sr., Diana graduated from Tennyson High School, Class of 1966. She earned her Associate’s degree from Chabot College, and went on to work as a Hallmark Representative for CVS and Hallmark for 25 years. She was a distinguished Girl Scout leader, won manager awards for her participation in Southern Alameda County Youth Soccer, and enjoyed membership in the Steppin’ Out Gals. Diana loved writing poetry, soccer, going to Disneyland with her family, and any time spent with her friends.

Diana is survived by her children Shawn O’Hara (ex-wife Kim), Kevin O’Hara (Sheré), Jon Bumgarner (Susana Defreitas) and Shannon Rosemeyer (Mark); grandchildren Patrick O’Hara (Nicole), Kenny O’Hara (Brandy), Joshua O’Hara, Casey Clarke and Madison Bumgarner; great grandchildren Julie, Gabriel, Lilly, Philip, and Emily O’Hara; sister Charlene Sterns (Steve); and many other loving family members and friends. Her beloved husband of 49 years, Dennis James O’Hara, passed one week after Diana, on September 25, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her siblings John Underwood Jr. and Dennis Underwood. Diana will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of the Lives of Dennis and Diana O’Hara will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Grissom’s Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA. Dennis and Diana will be laid to rest at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
