Deogracias Cadiz Jr. was born on May 26, 1941 to Asias and Pilar in the Philippines. He passed away at his home in San Leandro on March 3, 2018 at the age of 76. He is predeceased by his wife of 24 years, Crisanta “Christy” Cadiz.
Deogracias, also known as “Ding” to those who knew him lived his life to the fullest. He was a joker who loved to make people laugh. He was a Customs police officer for many years as well as an accounting clerk for Alameda County. He had a variety of hobbies such as mahjong, gardening, gambling, cooking, basketball, drinking Heineken and Johnnie Walker, and most importantly spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ding leaves behind many relatives including his siblings: Reynaldo, Jaime, Rosario, and Teresita; his children: Ferdie, Monching, Honesto, and Marie; his grandchildren: Jerilyn, Nicky, Marty, David, RJ, Raechel, Dylan, and Noah; and his great-grandchildren: Calysta, Bella, Aurie, Asen, and Macky.
Services for Mr. Cadiz will begin on Thursday, March 8, 2018 with a public visitation from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, followed by a vigil at 6:00 pm. Mass will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at St. Felicitas at 10:30.
