Dennis Alvarez passed away peacefully on March 13, 2023, at his San Leandro home. Dennis was born October 27, 1948, in Oakland, CA. to parents Moe and Sally Alvarez. Dennis was a lifelong resident of San Leandro and Hayward.

Dennis learned to play the drums, piano, and guitar at a young age. Jazz became his music of choice and he was part of a few bands as a drummer. He attended San Leandro High School where he excelled in Music and Track. He learned to play the drums, piano, and guitar at a young age and was a member of a couple of Jazz bands. After graduating he attended Chabot College where he studied to become a machinist.

Dennis is survived by his children Derrick (Becky) and Dominic (Stacey), Grandchildren Daniel and Dominic Junior, Great Grandchildren Cameron and Hazel, Niece April and Nephew Jason. Dennis is preceded in death by his brothers Moses and Edward.

As Dennis (Dad) always said he was the fastest, strongest guy in San Leandro, and a millionaire by 10 years old.
