Dawn Antoinette Metzger entered peacefully into rest in Oakland, California on October 1, 2021. She was 55 years old.

Born July 14, 1966 in Oakland, California to parents George Otto Schumann and Patricia Frances Perry, Dawn worked as a homemaker. She loved cooking, spending time with her children and grandchildren, playing Bingo, writing and being a caregiver.

Dawn is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, John Christopher Metzger; children Nichole, John, Monica, James, Krystyna, Geraldine, Jordan, Camnron and Kyle; grandchildren Kyroe, Jazzlyn, Niyeem, Dezmon, Josiah, Roman, August, Khloe, Kolten, Noah, Zayne and Zenna; siblings William and Donna; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings Geraldine, George and Garland. Dawn will be deeply missed.

Services for Dawn will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Grissom’s Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA.
