David Michael Smolen entered peacefully into rest in Oakland, California on May 1, 2024. He was 70 years old.

Born February 21, 1954 in Colorado to parents Alice and Daniel Smolen, David worked as a merchant marine for many years. He is survived by many loving family members and friends and will be deeply missed.
