Cristian Gabriel Gafton passed unexpectedly at his Palo Alto home on December 22, 2018.  He was 44 years old.

Born in Iasi, Romania, on April 20, 1974, Cristian was one of 2 sons blessed to Benone and Constanta Gafton.  He graduated from Universitatea Alexandru loan Cuza in 1997 and moved to the United States to begin his career as a software engineer.  Cristian married his high school sweetheart, Roxana, in 1999 and they would make their home in North Carolina and Connecticut prior to settling in Palo Alto in 2013.   Cristian was a longtime employee of Amazon who enjoyed photography, spending time with his friends and devoting himself to being a father.  He was a kind and loving person who will be deeply missed.

Cristian is survived by his wife, Roxana Gafton and their children, 9 year old Andrew Christian and 4 year old Emma Noelle; his father, Benone Gafton and brother, Octavian Gafton, both of Romania, and many cherished extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, December 27th from 6 pm to 7 pm at Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church, 26050 Kay Street, Hayward, CA.  The evening service begins at 7 pm.  Funeral services will be at 10 am on Friday, December 28th, also at the church.  Cristian will be laid to rest at Alta Mesa Cemetery and Memorial Park, 695 Arastradero Rd., Palo Alto, CA.
