Clevester Hines, Sr. was born in Vernon, TX on June 6, 1950 to Ollie and Elaine Hines, Sr. He was the third of twelve children born to this union.
Clevester matriculated through the Northeast Hale County school district. After graduating from Plainview High School he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he honorably served a tour of duty during the Vietnam War.
After his tour in Vietnam Clevester settled down and married the love of his life, Katherine Faye Bennette. Three children were born of this union; Carnedius , Cleshonda, and Clevester Jr.
Clevester taught his children how to live by example. He was strong in his faith, and exemplified how to live, love, how to serve, and how to be humble. He lived a life worth living and we will cherish him always.
Clevester was a very faithful member of his local church where he and his wife happily attended. He humbly served in several capacities, but being a Deacon was his calling. He loved his Pastor and the Pastor’s wife like family. He was always a willing worker. He demonstrated how to serve with dignity, honor, compassion, and excellence.
Clevester transitioned from this life to life eternal in the heavens on Thursday December 29, 2020. He continues to be a devoted man, extraordinary father, friend, and example of humility because of the legacy he leaves behind through his family, and friends.
His parents, three sisters, and two brothers preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, 3 children and their spouses, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 4 god-children, his brothers and sisters, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends.
