September 8, 2022, Tom Clark, longtime Newark resident, peacefully passed away of natural causes and went to be with his Lord.  He was 85.

Thomas Clark was born April 27, 1937, to Mary Felver Clark & Thomas Sylvester Clark at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco, CA. The Clarks moved to the East Bay, finally settling in Baumburg area of Hayward, CA., where the family worked their mattress business for about 30 years.  That's where Tom learned the many skills that would make him into the "jack of all trades" and artist he truly was. In addition to playing guitar, hunting and fishing, Tom learned to sew on commercial machines, even doing upholstery work.  The property's backyard pasture, large enough for a cow and chickens, helped him with farming skills. The Navy afforded Tom more opportunity to broaden his skillset: welding, cooking, mechanics. Tom was a Teamster, drove tow trucks, oil trucks, plus hauled gravel for Rhodes Jamison. He polished his welding skills at March Metal Fab working on vrs metals, especially aluminum. Having artistic talents, Tom drew, painted, produced metal sculptures for fun. Except for gardening, he got great joy making people laugh, playing practical jokes.  His frequent, sparkling smile will be sorely missed.

Tom is survived by longtime partner and wife, Barbara; daughter, Leah; Brother, Martin; granddaughter, Ashley; 2 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, stepchildren.
