Clarence Joseph Trappe III entered peacefully into rest in San Ramon, California on September 1, 2020. He was 75 years old.

Born July, 1945 in Nebraska to parents Marion and Clarence Trappe II, Clarence graduated from the University of San Francisco. He went on to work as a senior systems analyst for Oracle Sybase-Bechtel for 27 years. Most of the time you could find CJ down at the San Ramon Golf Course. He loved playing weekly rounds of golf, participated in many tournaments, and was a long time member of the Men’s Club. When he wasn’t golfing, he was down there every Tuesday and Thursday playing cribbage with the friends he has made over the years. He was always known for having an excellent short game which gave him the nickname, “The Boss of The Moss”. Another hobby of his was to cook. He enjoyed looking up new recipes and tweaking them with his own special flare. He was the main cook of the family and always loved to see our reactions during family dinner. He was a one of a kind special man that was loved and will be missed greatly by many.

Clarence is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Patricia Trappe; children Jason Trappe (Monica) and Kerre Trappe-Frantz (Ryan); grandchildren Mason Trappe and Guillermo Frantz; siblings John Trappe Sr., Carollynn Lisignoli (Mike), and Jim Trappe (Chris); nieces and nephews John Jr., Sabrina, William, Merri(Kristi) and Anthony; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Jean Marie Cantrell.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made to First Tee, which supports kids and teens in the ability to learn golf.
