Cecilia Anna Conti (Sis) born April 16th, 1935, in Oakland, California, daughter of Raymond and Cecilia Loya, passed away peacefully in her home on October 26, 2023. Cecilia grew up on 51st Avenue in Oakland with her late brothers Hank and Raymond Loya. She attended St. Elizabeth’s School in Oakland and married her childhood neighbor and love of her life, Louie Conti. Louie and Cecilia are now reunited in heaven. She is survived by her children Keith, Louis (Kim), Elizabeth (Robert), her grandchildren Sara, Curtis, Jennifer, Nicholas, Melanie, dear cousins, and her numerous family and friends.

Louie and Cecilia married on October 12, 1957. They built their home in San Leandro and were active members of their community. Cecilia worked at Woodrow Wilson Elementary as an Office Administrator for 20 years.

Cecilia was the matriarch of her family, and she loved caring for them. She regularly hosted events including her famous “Monday Night Dinner” where she cooked for the whole family and neighborhood kids. She had a big heart and always wanted to have her family and friends close to share their love. Her legacy is that of caring for her family.

She also had many dear friends that she made through her phases of life, especially her favorite travel partners known as the “Magnificent Seven”, comprised of wonderful women who traveled together to see the beauty of the world. Cecilia went on many extraordinary adventures; across Europe with her true love, road trips with the Magnificent Seven, journeys to the family cabin in the mountains, and late summer camping trips.

The two lovers, Louie and Cecilia, built a family cabin in the mountains, where they loved spending time with their family – fishing, taking in the sounds of nature, and teaching their children the lessons of hard work and determination.

We invite you to join in the celebration of her life and legacy at Grissom’s Mortuary on Thursday November 2, 2023, at 267 E Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo from 3PM-8PM with a Vigil service at 7PM. On Friday, November 3, 2023 a funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, 3433 Somerset Ave, Castro Valley at 11AM, with a burial at Holy Sepulchre to follow.
