Carol Rita Barclay (Kennedy) entered peacefully into rest in San Leandro, California on Saturday, October 12, 2019. She was 77 years old.
Born December 13, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Rita and Thomas Lee. Carol worked for over 30 years as a therapist/counselor with Second Chance and Project Eden. Throughout her life, she gave her guidance and wisdom – freely and honestly – to thousands of people. She never asked for anything in return. She also played a huge role with outlining and pioneering the current applied practices for domestic violence counseling.
Carol is survived by her son David Marquard and his wife Annbria Marquard; grandchildren Heidi Marquard, Atticus Marquard, Chelcie Lopez and Duane Taylor; sisters Suzanne Lee and Sandy Eby; brother Steven Lee; nieces Jennifer Kanalos, Elizabeth Montgomery, Cheryl Morgan; nephews Anthony Cavazos-Geluso, Victor Geluso, Matthew Geluso, and Kristian Lee; many cousins, including Michael Miller and his husband Ron Eastman; her beloved dog Marley; and scores of loved ones. So many, so many loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roderick Barclay and her sons Robert Taylor and Mark Marquard.
