Carol Lee Stearman

April 18, 1950 – October 5, 2025

Carol Stearman, 75, passed on Sunday October 5, 2025 in her San Bruno, CA home.  She was born April 18,1950 to Carl and Helen Clare (Eck) Stearman in San Francisco CA.  Carol graduated St. Brigid Academy with academic honors and was involved in music and public speaking events. 

She pursued her love of learning with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and had a lifetime career as educator at South San Francisco High School and retired educator at El Camino High School in Oceanside, CA. Many of her students became adult lifetime friends who described her as a ‘mentor’ and ‘profound inspiration’.   Carol enjoyed ‘adventures’ with her maternal Grandmother Eck’s nieces who were always ready for travel around the USA and Europe.  She often described a favorite trip to Kentucky with her paternal Grandmother Stearman and family as a ‘treasure of great thinkers’.  She was an avid walker with the ‘Girl’s Group’ of retired teachers around the Reservoir Park with plentiful conversations in the local coffee shop.  Carol’s many friends and colleagues have described her as a friend ‘who could be counted on’, a ‘person full of compassion and kindness’ and a woman who was ‘resourceful, independent, and capable of inspiring others “to do and make well in life”.

Carol is survived by her Cousins Pam Gregory, Dale (Kathleen) Line, John (Emily) Nichols, Lauren Dean. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Helen Clare Stearman, Cousin Penelope Gregory. 

Carol’s Burial Service will be Monday, December 8, 2025, 1pm at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
