Anthony (Tony) Joseph Guerra, 62, of Newark, CA, passed away on October 14, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones.  Born February 18, 1956 in Oakland CA, to the late Robert & Lydia Guerra, The eldest of his five siblings; Theresa (Alvin) Horn, Richard Guerra, Esther (Nelson) Nieves, Lydia (Benjamin) Castaneda, and former sister-in-law Theresa Madrid.

Husband for 19 years to the late Nora Guerra. Tony is survived by his children: Roberto (Gabriela), Joseph (Jamyka), Delfino and daughter Lydia; his former wife Lourdes and step-children; Clara (Eric), Joshua (Sarah), and Daniel; Daughters of his Heart: Kelley and Melanie (Paul); Grandchildren: Joseph Jr, Savanna, Isaac, Kyle, Damian, Dominic, Michael Anthony, Elijah, Jonah, Isaahia, Felix and Olivia; and Great-Granddaughter Nora Ann.  Papa Tony to Cheyenne and Tayler. 

Dear Brother-in-Law to the Carvalho-Rivera family: Ronald, Liz, David, Brenda, Alvin (d), Greg, Tanya, Jennifer, Max; and the Aceves family: Efrain, Juan, Guadalupe, Elias, Francisco, Rosario, Angelica, Felipe, Ignacio, Eduardo.  Uncle Tony to his many loving nieces and nephews.

Loved by his large family of Aunts, Uncles and cousins; Guerrero & Guerra and Duarte, Garcia & Sanchez Familias. 

Tony attended Lorin Eden Elementary, and finished his primary education at St. Bede’s, graduating from Moreau High School in 1974.

Tony the original “Graffiti Buster”, retired after ~40 years of service in October 2014. He was a City Painter in the Maintenance Services Dept, and member of Union Local SEIU 1021-Maintenance.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 10th at the City Hall Rotunda, 777 B Street in Hayward, from 3-7pm.

Interment will be private.
