Ann Marie Laster

Life Legacy

Ann Marie Laster, 95, of San Lorenzo, California passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Ann Marie was born on October 27, 1930, in Huntington Park, California to Robert and Caroline Jordan; she was the second of three daughters. Ann Marie grew up during the Great Depression and World War II, learning lifelong lessons of thriftiness, hard work and economy.

Ann Maire graduated from Southgate High School in 1948 where she met her future husband William “Bill” Laster. They married in 1951, raised four children and were devoted to one another until Bill passed away in 2015. Ann Marie was a retired Special Education Aide having spent over 20 years in San Lorenzo Unified School District. She was kind and patient with her students and developed close friendships with her colleagues.

Ann Marie was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church for over 60 years where she sang in the choir and was a member of St. Gerard’s Women’s Club ministry. She loved music of all kinds and enjoyed playing the piano, singing and dancing at every chance. Ann Marie was an avid gardener and loved cooking for her family. She enjoyed drawing, sewing, crocheting and quilting. She was dedicated to fitness before it was fashionable and loved swimming and hiking. She was curious and engaged in current events and the arts. She and Bill shared a love for national and state parks and visited many. They traveled extensively and enjoyed road trips and cruises alike.

But most of all, Ann Marie was a loving mother and grandmother. She took pride in her children’s accomplishments, provided support during difficult moments and celebrated life’s joys. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Ann Marie loved celebrating their birthdays and making specially decorated cakes. She shared adventures with her grandchildren and attended many sports and orchestra events. Her love and devotion will be lasting.

She is survived by her children Steven, Carlise, Katherine and John, her sister Cheryl Hadley and brother-in-law Bill Hadley, her grandson Lowell, her grandsons

and their wives, Levi and Tanya, Beau and Ashley, Maxwell and Rachel, Micah and Annie, six great-grandchildren, and cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ann Marie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6 at 1:30 pm at Grissom’s Chapel and Mortuary.
