Life Legacy

Amy Lai passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on September 1, 2017. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. She married Victor Lai and together they had four children: Sandra, Angela, Lisa, and Vincent. When the children were still young, they immigrated to San Antonio, Texas to give them a better life. Ten years later they moved again to Los Angeles, California and finally settled in Northern California with their oldest daughter and only son, Sandra and Vincent, and helped raise their oldest grandchildren, Erin and Erica.

To strangers, Amy was an adorable old lady, ready with a smile to anything you said because English wasn't her first language. To those that knew her, she was a passionate, fiercely independent, dedicated, loving, honest, forgetful, hard of hearing, loud, nurturing, stubborn woman always ready to bake you a cake because cooking for others was her way of showing love.

She refused to be a burden because she knew how precious life is, and what a waste it is to spend it worrying. Her favorite phrase was "I take care of myself so you don't have to worry."
She loved surrounding herself with people and found a way to see the best in everyone. In return, she opened to them her heart of gold and gifted them with her love, laughter, and food.
The world will not be the same without her in it but it will be no less bright. Her kindness and her memory has touched everyone she met with the same light she had in her.
