Alejandra Ascencio, 53, died February 17 2017. She was born in Mexico City, December 19, 1963. She was one of nine children of Jesus Ascencio and Eulalia Sanchez. She grew up in Mexico where she met her husband Arturo Vazquez. They were married in 1983 and have 3 daughters.

Alejandra immigrated to the US in 2006 with her daughters. She studied to become a CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant), a job that she loved and did for 3 years before being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2011. Alejandra was a strong and determined woman. She fought a long battle with cancer. She never gave up and gave everything till the last moment. 

She is survived by her ex-husband and friend Arturo Vazquez; her daughter Alicia Vazquez; her daughter Julieta and son-in-law Juan Carlos, and her daughter Maria Itzel and son-in-law Matthew. She also leaves the three loves of her life, her grandkids, Christopher, Carlitos and Martin. Alejandra was great sister, one of nine siblings. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Jesus, Jose, Juan, Martin, Lupe, Rosa, Carmen and Guille, along with several nephews and nieces that she loved as if they were her own kids. She was loved by many and will continue to be loved by many more. 

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday February 25th, 2017 at 2 pm at St Clement Catholic Church, 750 Calhoun St Hayward, CA  94544.  She will be placed to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery the following Monday, February 27, 2017, at noon. 

We encourage you to wear purple to her services to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer research.
