Aileen Ursula Mathisen entered peacefully into rest in Oakland, California on March 6, 2020. She was 94 years old.

Born December 16, 1925 in Oakland, California to parents Hugo and Anna Blint, Alieen attended Presentation High School and the School of Nursing, Alameda County. Following graduation, she worked as an LVN (nurse) for Alameda County for over 20 years. She was a proud member of the St. Gerard’s Women’s Club and the Hayward Hiking Club, and loved to hike the Bay Area parks and at the sea coast.

She is survived by her children Alana Prusinovski and Kristin Famosi; grandchildren Thomas Prusinovski, Patrick Prusinovski, Anna Lardiere and Eric Lardiere; and great grandchildren Jack and Isabella Lardiere. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Jack Anton Mathisen, and daughter Maureen Mathisen.

Visitation for Aileen will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA, with a Vigil to begin at 7:00 PM. Mass will begin at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 13, 2020 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA. Aileen will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA.
