Ofelia C. Rojas, or "Mama Chella" to her family and friends, entered peacefully into rest in Hayward, California on July 17, 2019. She was 80 years old.
Born July 12, 1939 in Durango, Mexico to parents Sara and Antonio Cazares, Ofelia was a dedicated wife and mother, raising their four children. She enjoyed making flower arrangements and favors for her family and friends' weddings and quinceañeras.
Ofelia is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Santiago Rojas; children, Maria Aurelia Enriquez (Jorge Enriquez); Irma Flores (Benjamin Flores), Jose Luis Rojas (Susana Cervantes-Rojas), and Sylvia Copado (Tino Copado); grandchildren Victor, Saul, Patricia, Veronica, Daniel, David, Michael, Diego, and Daniella; great grandchildren Raquel, Ismael, Marcos, Mercedes, Danika, Lukas, Allegria, Emillia, Benicio, and Tobias; and siblings Antonio, Jose, Maria, Margarita, Beatriz, Manuel and David. She was preceded in death by her siblings Jesus, Emilio and Nicolasa; and parents Antonio and Sara Cazares.
Visitation for Ofelia will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23rd, at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd, San Lorenzo, CA, with a Vigil to follow at 11:00, also at Grissom's. At 12:00 PM, following the Vigil, Mass will be held at St. John's Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA. Burial will follow, at Lone Tree Cemetery, 24591 Fairview Ave, Hayward, CA.
