Herminio "Hermie" Del Mundo Golfo
San Leandro, California - Hermie Del Mundo Golfo, 83, was accompanied by God's angels and love his family to his mansion on Monday, October 24, 2016 at his residence in San Leandro following a brief illness.
He was survived by his wife of 56 years Juanita "Nita" Lirio Golfo; hid daughter, Rachel Golfo Bello, her husband, Edward Bello and their 3 children, Jaraed, Joriamie and Jaenie-Rae; Miriam Golfo Sison, his daughter and her husband, James Sison; Herminio "Sonny" Golfo Jr.; his son, Jonathan Golfo and his wife JoAnn Lagud Golfo; loved ones, Westside Baptist Church Families and many close friends.
Born and raised in General Aguinaldo (Formerly Bailen), Cavite, Philippines the son of Buenaventura Golfo and Maria Conception Del Mundo Golfo. Hermie is the eldest of 7 siblings.
Hermie and family lived in Manila, Philippines and migrated to The United States and have been in Alameda since since 1974. While in the Philippines, he taught architecture, math and design, Hermie worked for Bechtel - a global leader in engineering, his tenure, Hermie worked on a number of projects with international significance. He was a member of the design teams for the Rydah Airport in Saudi Arabia and Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates - both noted for their spectacular architecture. Another top assignment of Hermie was the design of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Space Launch Complex. The design required 21 stories to be right next to the Atlantic Ocean so that the foundation would not melt from the heat of the space shuttle.
Hermie retired from Bechtel in 1998 and was one of the instructors for the Alameda Recreational Park Department in tennis ever since. He was a member of The Harbor Bay Club and emphasized on being fit and healthy.

Services will be held at Grissom's Chapel and Mortuary 267 E. Lewelling Blvd. San Lorenzo, CA. 94580 as follows:
Visitation on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Evening Service scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
Funeral Service is Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.
The burial immediately following the Funeral Service will be at Lone tree Cemetery 24591 Fairview Ave. Hayward, CA
