Madeline Oberti passed away peacefully at her Walnut Creek home on November 25, 2017. She was 81 years old.
Born in Oakland on August 7, 1936 to Ernest & Dorothy Delucchi, Madeline was a graduate of Oakland Tech High School. She met and married her beloved husband, Eddie and they made their home in San Leandro with a recent celebration of 62 years of marriage, She worked for many years in the healthcare field, as a nurse’s aide and office manager. Madeline had also been the owner of Creekside Creamery and Manager of Everybody’s Bagel Shop in San Leandro, she was a longtime member of and former President of the Alpicella Women’s Club and enjoyed reading and cooking and loving her many grandchildren and great grandchildren that knew her as Noni Madeline.
She was devoted mother and Noni and great Noni who took great pride in her family. She had a fond loving of her pets with the last “jewel “ Lady at her side till her passing.
Her kind and thoughtful ways will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Edward G. Oberti; daughters and sons in law, Maureen & Ed Shapiro and Susan & David Calvao; sister, Diane Delucchi; grandchildren, Nicholas (Amber), Joshua (Erin) and Benjamin (Elianne) Shapiro and Jenna Calvao (Mike Damonte) and Jeffrey Calvao; great grandchildren, Carrie, Olivia, Briella, Clayton and Brady and many nieces and nephews along with many loving extended family and cherished friends.
Visitation will be 5 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. Funeral services will begin at 10 am on Thursday, November 30, 2017, also at the mortuary. A reception will follow. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Vitas Hospice are preferred.
