Fèlix Martínez passed away on May 6, 2018, in Hayward California at the age of 82.
Born on January 8, 1936 in El Salvador, Fèlix was the son of the late Carlos Martínez and Francisca Escalante. Fèlix was a beloved member of the community, and an active member of the Northern California Pappy Soccer League. He loved playing sports, especially soccer, which he loved so much that he even made his own team named “Santa Anita.”
He also enjoyed dancing, and playing dice and poker with his family and friends. He also loved the outdoors, and exercised and jogged daily to maintain his physique.
He will be remembered for his quick and easy laugh. He was a jokester, and enjoyed making others laugh. He touched the lives of all those he encountered. He did not have any bad habits, and always had to buy lotto tickets in hopes of winning the lottery one day.
Fèlix worked as shoe designer in orthopedics for approximately 60 years. He was a great father, very caring and giving.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Sylvia C. Villegas, son Elvys M. Martínez, and daughter Dr. Erika A. Martínez.
